NAI Emory Hill Brokers Get Elected!

NAI Emory Hill is pleased to announce that commercial real estate agent Emily Drake has been elected President of the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals Network. Her new one-year term begins in September. Emily has been with Emory Hill for several months and has experience in sales and marketing and a Bachelor of Science degree in Leadership from the University of Delaware. She represents all types of property transactions out of Emory Hill’s corporate offices in New Castle.

In other NAI Emory Hill news, commercial broker Jim O’Hara Jr. has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Commercial-Industrial Realty Council (CIRC) of Delaware. The announcement was made at the September CIRC Annual Meeting. Jim serves as the Director of Brokerage for NAI Emory Hill and is a principal of the firm. He has been involved in the real estate business since 1972 and started Jim O’Hara Realty Associates LLC in 1999, joining Emory Hill in 2008. Jim is licensed in Delaware and Pennsylvania and represents all types of properties with a focus on retail.

Emory Hill Real Estate Services, Inc. is pleased to announce that Joseph Fonash has joined the firm as a new commercial property manager. Before joining Emory Hill, Joe worked as a property manager for SSH Management, LLC in Philadelphia, where he managed a portfolio of commercial, residential, retail and mixed-use buildings. Prior to SSH Management, LLC, Joe started his career with Ironstone Strategic Capital Partners as a Residential Property Manager and Leasing Agent.  Joe’s responsibilities will include managing office, industrial and retail properties. He holds a Pennsylvania Real Estate License and is active in his Philadelphia neighborhood of Fishtown, working with local councilmen, businesses and developers in engaging the community with events, changes and development.  He is a graduate of Temple University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English. Emory Hill Companies is pleased to announce that Steve Endres has joined the firm as the new Chief Financial Officer.Steve has more than 25 years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant including working for Ernst & Young in Baltimore and the past 15 years as a CFO/Controller for real estate businesses including Mid-Atlantic Properties, Inc., Nottingham Properties, Inc., and the James F. Knott Realty Group. His responsibilities will include overseeing all accounting functions of the firm, overseeing the accounting staff, working with the various department heads on budgets and operations, procurement and establishing and maintaining relationships with banking institutions and outside accountants. Steve is a graduate of the University of Baltimore where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Emily photoNAI Emory Hill is pleased to welcome three new brokers – Emily Drake, who is working out of the New Castle County, and Ann Bailey and Ted Nutter, both of whom will work from the Lewes office serving Kent and Sussex counties.

Emily has several years of experience in sales and marketing and a Bachelor of Science degree in Leadership from the University of Delaware. She will be representing all types of property transactions out of Emory Hill’s corporate offices in New Castle.

Ann is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and commercial real estate broker who was previously with Jackson Cross Partners and employed by the original Jackson Cross Company for 16 years. She specializes in multi-family properties and has more than 27 years of real estate experience in commercial brokerage, holding licenses in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida. Ann received her Bachelor of Arts at Temple University where she studied at the Center City Real Estate Institute. She resides in Rehoboth Beach.

Ted has held a Delaware real estate license for more than 35 years.  His extensive experience and training has encompassed residential and commercial brokerage, new home sales, appraisal, property management, and real estate finance. Ted is a former Executive Director of the Wilmington Economic Development Corporation and was responsible for securing millions of dollars of financial assistance for small businesses throughout the City of Wilmington and New Castle County. He also worked for the state as Real Property Administrator in the Department of Administrative Services where he negotiated commercial leases for state facilities. He is a graduate of Lehigh University and earned a Master Degree from the University of Delaware College of Urban Affairs and Public Policy. Bob Hill Wins 2012 DCA “Dickie” Award!

Bob Hill, President of Emory Hill & Company, was presented with the 2012 Richard P. DiSabatino Sr. Award by the Delaware Contractors Association (DCA) at its 43rd Annual Meeting at the Chase Center on the Riverfront. Known affectionately as the “Dickie Award,” the honor was established 14 years ago by the DCA Executive Committee to annually honor the individual who has worked most diligently on behalf of the DCA during the past year. “This year’s recipient has been extremely active with the association,” said Rick DiSabatino, who presented the award on behalf of the DCA.  Bob “has worked tirelessly for DCA this past year and has served with great dedication while providing valuable insight into issues affecting the industry,” and “has not only been supportive of the association, but our industry as a whole.” Bob Hill is a Past President of DCA and is actively involved on the Finance, Nominating and Government Affairs Committees, the Civic Affairs Construction Council (PAC) and regularly attends DCA Board and Executive Committee meetings.

Emory Hill Real Estate Services, Inc. is pleased to welcome John Skeparnias as a property manager and Cheryl Williamson as the chief dispatcher in the maintenance division. John has worked in commercial real estate for the past eight years in a variety of roles including development, construction, project management, marketing, business development and vendor/relationship management. Prior to joining Emory Hill, John worked for several companies in York, PA including Agora Development where he was a development director, Sigma Commercial Realty as a commercial real estate agent and property manager, and as the co-owner of the Boulevard Sports Garden. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Towson University and lives in Wilmington. Before joining Emory Hill, Cheryl worked as an installation manager and project coordinator with P.J. Fitzpatrick Inc. in Delaware. Her roles included coordinating schedules, invoicing and collections, accounts receivable, job cost/purchasing, payroll, marketing and quality assurance – many of the same duties she will be performing for Emory Hill. Cheryl is a Delaware native and lives in Middletown.

 


Lewes Grand Opening a Huge Success!

Delaware Economic Development Office Secretary Alan Levin and several state legislators were on hand at the ribbon cutting ceremony which kicked off the Grand Opening celebration of the new NAI Emory Hill Lewes office on August 21. Secretary Levin commended NAI Emory Hill on its commitment to bring business and more jobs to Sussex County and its long-standing business relationship with the entire state of Delaware over the past 31 years. NAI Emory Hill hosted the celebration in conjunction with the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, sponsoring a networking luncheon as part of the event, which was attended by 60 people including Delaware Senator Gary Simpson and Representatives Peter Schwartzkopf and Harvey Kenton. On behalf of co-owner Robert Hill and the entire staff, NAI Emory Hill President Carmen J. Facciolo Jr., thanked Secretary Levin and the delegates present and introduced Brittany Danahy, the head broker of the new Lewes office. Danahy is currently the broker for over 25 property listings in Sussex County and has already completed several lease transactions.

Seeds of Greatness Ground Breaking Sunday!

Construction manager Emory Hill & Company will be breaking ground for the new Seeds of Greatness Bible Church on a 17-acre parcel on Route 273 across the street from
the Farmers Market in New Castle. The groundbreaking ceremony, slated for July 29, promises to be an exciting event, reflective of the church itself, which
has grown eight-fold to approximately 1,000 weekly attendees since it was founded just twelve years ago. The church will be moving from its current warehouse location at 190 Quigley Blvd.
