Ocean View Mayor Cuts Ribbon at new Sustainably-Built Royal Farms

Another new, “green” Royal Farms held its ribbon cutting last week at 58 Atlantic Avenue in Ocean View, Sussex County, DE. The store is the fifth Royal Farms to be constructed by Emory Hill & Company,  which has also built stores in Glasgow, Georgetown, Bear and Dover, DE and is currently constructing a sixth store near the Philadelphia Airport at Exit 8 of Interstate 95 in Ridley Park, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.  Several Royal Farms stores constructed by Emory Hill have been built to LEED® standards or have received LEED® certification, and all are constructed with sustainable construction. The Ocean View Royal Farms was designed and constructed in accordance with the state-of-the-art, stringent energy and water efficiency standards set forth by the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED® rating system. The building features low flow toilets, waterless urinals, low VOC paint, energy efficient LED lighting fixtures throughout the store, and energy efficient components within the lighted beverage and food cases.
